The Similan Islands
For those that are coming for diving thailand has myriad of options. Similan islands are famous due to its location near the famous Phuket.Similan Islands lie in the north of Phuket and are known for its thick jungles and granite islands. The islands are surrounded by amazingly clear blue waters. As for the beaches, glowing white sands border the islands making it a picturesque view worth all the effort.

In contrast to Similan Islands, Koh Bon offers divers with more deep waters. This means that these waters will be home to more diverse marine life that include mantas, Whalesharks, Barracuda and even Sharks. Koh Tachai also competes with Similan Islands for its marine inhabitants that include leopard Sharks, Rays and numerous other species. However scuba divers mostly direct their attention to the ridge that is found near the islands.
The famous Richelieu Rock
The Richelieu Rock found near the islands of Koh Tachai and Koh Bon is a famous attraction that looks remarkably like a horseshoe. It is loved by divers as it offers considerable amount of marine life. It is only ironic that this magical place was discussed by the famous diver Jacques – Yves Cousteau. Scropion Fish, Emperor Angel Fish, Ornate Ghost Pipefish, Sea horses, Moray eels and even Chevron Barracuda are found here among many others.
